I disgree with the fact that people are "Straight" minded OR "Crooked" minded because, we are stubborn at one point of our lives. People always say, "No one is perfect" in which it is true. We may say things, or do things that may offend people, while it makes other folks happy. We can never be good because, other group of people might see it as a bad act. One example, was when the right-handed twin cut off the head of his grandmother, creating the moon(last page of the story). Some might say that was a right move due to the creation of the moon. Others might say, that was a stubborn, selfish move.

I agree with your side of the argument because no human, whether they think it or not, isn't perfect. Some people might perceive your acts as bad while others think your acts are good. Even though we think were doing something right, we might be hurting someone in the process. Every human is different physically and mentally which give different times and situations where we touch the other side. It isn't possible for someone to fully dedicate themselves to either normal or crooked because humans always make mistakes.

I disagree with the point that someone can be a straight minded person or a crooked minded person. For example The right twin had no choice but to try and kill his brother, the left twin, even though he was a normal and right person. The left twin the devious one was always driving his brother to a limit that gave the right twin an obvious weakness (pg. 27 and 28). Right twin tried his hardest but he went over the edge and gave in to his brother’s intolerable acts and killed him.

I disagree with the statement someone can be a “straight” minded person or “crooked” minded because no one is 100% perfect in the world. Everyone makes mistakes or has to do something they do not want to do at some point in their life. An example of this is on pg. 43 when the right-handed twin had to lie to his brother to be able to stay alive. The right-handed twin was the one who always told the truth and did things the right way while the left-handed twin was disobedient.

Even though our species was created to make mistakes, it doesn't mean that we can't control our own actions. Also, instead of being both good and evil, we can shift from side to side depending on our own actions instead. Humans can choose to be either good(normal) or bad(crooked) and not both.

I disagree with the statement that someone can be "straight" minded or "crooked" minded because there is some good in bad people, and some bad in good people. There will always at one point be that guilt you have when you do something bad sooner or later. People who are "straight" minded have some bad things in their life - everyone has. Also, people who are "crooked" minded have done something good in their life, whether it be helping someone or just donating one dollar. An example is on page 43, the "straight" minded twin has to lie to the "crooked" twin to live, showing there is some bad in the good.

After reading The World On a Turtle's Back in class I have formed the opinion that not one person is entirely good or entirely evil. Every person does wrong every person is intentionally bad and intentionally good at some point in their lives. In the story the right handed twin is thought of as entirely good creating only life, but the right handed twin lies to his brother to prevent himself from losing their contests. (pg. 27) The right handed twin lies so that the left handed twin will pick the wrong weapon while the left handed twin tells the truth and does what is right, this allowed the right handed twin to save himself and kill his brother. This proving that even the right handed twin who has only done good his whole life up until this point is evil.

I believe everyone is both right and wrong because no one is just one. All humans have the natural ability to make mistakes or lie sometimes. For instance, the right twin had lied to the left twin in order to save himself (pg. 43). The fate of the left twin was truly unfortunate, although, in the eyes of the right twin it was necessary in order to be successful.

I disagree because I believe no one can have an unbending or twisted mind their whole lives. Since no one is faultless and our personalities cannot be narrowed down to one word. An example, was when the left-handed twin was born he killed his mother (p.26) that was his first mistake because he had his own mindset that made him different and imperfect. Another was the twins made a balanced and orderly earth which was good (p.27). This proves that both twins were never just devious or normal but, most of all it shows they didn’t just one mindset that contributed to good or evil.

I disagree with the theory of a person having only a "straight" or "crooked" mind. I disagree with this because no person can be completely good, or completely bad. Every good person has a evil side, as well as every bad person having a good side.An example of this is on pg.43 where the right handed twin lies to the left handed twin in order to defeat him. In short no person is born evil, or good. These characteristics simply develop over time as one is exposed to a certain view.

I disagree with the idea of there only good or only bad in people or the world. This is due to the fact that everyone and everything has sides to them that are good and bad. Like a robber who is robbing someone; they want to steal from someone, being the bad side, but they don't want to harm the person they want to rob, being the good side. Also, seen in page 43 the right handed twin lies to "kill" his brother and then in page 44 he kills his grandmother, which makes him a bad person for killing his family but also a good person for creating the beautiful things of the world.

I strongly disagree in the theory of a human being having only a "crooked" or "straight" mind. The reason behind this argument is because everyone has a different way of thinking of things. The mind sets variety on the type of person someone is or the way they look at things. The Yin Yang symbol represents us humans and how we are created. No matter how much good a person may have in them there's always going to be a bad side, and same thing goes for all the bad in people, there's always a good in them. An example from the book, page 28, the author explains that the right-handed twin never does anything wrong. On the other hand the twins were playing a game and the right-handed twin selected a deer antler that he knew would destroy his brother. The right handed twin who was supposed to be the good one was selfish and did the bad thing to make sure he won.

I disagree with the statement that someone can only be "straight" or "crooked" minded. It is said that even the best of people can be turned into the worst of humans. Sometimes you have to do something wrong in order to help yourself or others, like the right handed twin had to lie to the left handed twin to help himself on page 43. While some might not think that's a big deal, others would consider that to be something a crooked minded person might do.

I agree that everyone in this world has characteristics of both good and bad. I believe that not everybody has only good or good intentions in them. Everybody has made a mistake and messed up at least once in their life. People hit breaking points that can often lead to bad outcomes. Even the best people mess up. Also not everyone with bad intentions have never done something good. Theres good in bad in everyone. For example on page 23 it explains how the womans husband is very nice and kind, but is pursuing an evil deed as his wife requests the roots from the sacred tree. Although he knows its wrong he goes along to do it anyway for the love of his wife but not because he is a bad person. Lastly in the text, on page 24 even though the lady accomplished a bad act and fell through the hole of the tree, she did good by creating earth, along with life.

I disagree with the idea that a person has to be completely “crooked” minded, or “straight” minded. People are allowed to make mistakes, and mistakes should not identify who a person is. If a person is considered “good” and made a bad choice, does that person now identify as bad? No humans on this earth were created to be perfect. Choices that are made by an individual should not be held against them when it does not involve anybody else. For example, in the book The World on a Turtle’s Back the right handed twin that was considered “good” or straight minded had to lie to his brother. After he lied, that did not make him a bad person. He was still the same person, but made a bad choice (page 43).

I disagree with the idea that a person can be straight-minded or crooked-minded simply because there is some bad in good people and vice-versa. Those who are straight minded have done something crooked in their life, and those who are crooked minded have done some good things in their life. Nobody can be 100% evil nor 100% good. The reason behind this is because that simply picking up a pencil for someone or holding the door open for them is considered a good thing. An example of this would be on page 43, where the right twin lied in order to save himself from the left twin.

I disagree with the prompt because human beings have good and evil inside them. Situations in life can make a person behave differently than they wanted to. A person can’t just be entirely good or bad. The environment that they live in can affect their actions towards others. It may differ depending who the person they are with. As it is says on page 43, in the book The World on the Turtle’s Back, the right handed twin is considered the good one between the twins but in that page, he showed that he is not entirely pure because he became like his brother, the left handed “crooked” twin, and lied about what kind of weapon he will use for the duel. A person can hide their real personality from others whenever they want to, so you would never know who really the person is.

The Iroquois Indians believe that every person in existence is either good or bad based on their actions. I disagree with their opinions about humans. Everyone in their lives makes a bad decision because, as we are always told, “nobody’s perfect.” Therefore there aren’t people who are strictly good, or “straight minded.” For instance, in the book, on page 43, the right handed twin, who is perceived as straight minded, lies to his brother in order to save his own life. Also, there are several people in this world who do more bad than good but at one point in their life they have done some good. Nobody in existence is strictly, “straight minded” or, “crooked minded” as these are judgements made by human beings. Next, who wrote the unwritten rules that one must follow to be considered good, or one must break to be considered bad? Some people may think of one person as being bad while others think of the same person being bad. Therefore nobody is either straight minded or cooked minded as these judgements all depend on another human’s perspective.

I disagree with the saying that people are Straight minded or Crooked minded because people think differently when life doesn't go as planed. People will do things no one will like but that is their way of handling things life throws at them. No one is good because every person makes mistakes they never would have dreamed of doing. After I read The World on a Turtles Back, I thought that a person is not entirely good or entirely bad. I personally think that making one decision can’t make a person be considered “bad”. Everyone has done something bad in their life time and that one decision that they made shouldn’t say whether they are an entirely good person or an entirely bad person. For example, in the story the right handed twin tried killing the left handed twin even though the right one was considered the normal one and the "right" one. (pg27)
