I think that Odysseus was part of the reason it took so long for his men to get home for many reasons. First, he was the reason the crew got stuck with Calypso. Also, he wanted to go if the Cyclopes were friends or foe. Finally, he was the person that Polyphemus prayed to be cursed by Poseidon. In conclusion, this is why I think Odysseus slowed his crew down in getting home.

The Cyclopes were villains for many reasons. First, Polyphemus ate two of Odysseus's men when he arrived. Also, he trapped Odysseus and his crew in his cave so they could not escape. Furthermore, he lobbed massive boulders at his ships when he tried to get away from the island. In conclusion, the Cyclopes had many characteristics making them villainous.

My first discussion question to respond to is "How does Odysseus's personal characteristics relate to you?" I could say that in a way and if I can I will do whatever I need to help someone. That is just in my nature but it can be both good and bad. Good because that person that I am helping will no longer be in need of help and satisfied. And bad because if I ho completely out of my way it may come off as I'm putting everyone before my own self and sometimes that is good, but you still should be able to put yourself first when the time is right.

The first question I chose was Do you think polyphemus was a villain? I don't think he was a villain but certainly an enemy. My second question that I chose was Do you think polyphemus was made evil or born that way? I think he was made to be the enemy of Odysseus.

My first question was "Do you think Odysseus was the reason it took so long for him and his men to get home?". I believe that he is a major reason why it took so long because of him running his mouth and going into situations that could have been avoided. I also believe that there were complications that could not have been avoided.

How do you think Odysseus convinced Colypso to let him go? I think that he promised her money, and that he would stay in touch with her. He may have promised her more power and also his love.

How did Odysseus stay at the island with galypso for so long? Odysseus stayed at the island for 7 years. It is said that she would use seductive material to keep him on the island. I think his goddess is used to describe a connection to how she is the the ruler of the waters and how the waters of the sea wouldn't let him get back home and if think he is trying to say is that he couldn't go back home because of the harsh waters but uses her as a better way to explain it and gives it human characteristics

Lotus eaters are evil because they trap their prey in a dream like stupor in which they forget everything about what they where doing previous to consuming the plant. The consumption of the plant likely led to hundreds of deaths. Polythemus is a not exactly a villain nor is he a friend but he is an example of Confucius' idea of the Ying and Yang symbol. He does what he needs to live even though it is not to the benefit of others.

Do you think Polyphemus was born evil or did something made him that way. My answer to the question is that I don't Polyphemus is bad or born bad I think that he was not so cruel then something might of happened. The way he acts is naturally to him that's the way he is that's his environment that's where be grew up with that instinct. Polyphemus was grown up like that and I think that he can't change who he is what's his diet or the way he acts

Do you think the Trojan war actually happened? No I do not think that the Trojan war haponeed maybe a war did happen but the way it's describe in book and the adventures are very fake and are just myths or legends passed down in the Greek culture.

Did the Trojan war actually happen? I believe that the war did happen because of everything that we learned from passed classes all the wars are usually real. Especially how they get into detail of what happened it it.

I believe it was Odysseus fault their men didn't make it home for so long because they tricked the Cyclopes and the Cyclopes prayed they would never find there way home. Also for "killing the Cyclopes sight".

I think the Cyclops were villains. They didn't respect the gods and thought they were more powerful than the gods. Also, the one in book 9 he kept Odysseus there for no reason just to eat his companions.i think it would take them maybe 3 years to build the Trojan horse. It was very tall in stature and with alto of features included into it.

I believe polyphemus was a villian. He chose to deny odyssues from the start even though originally odyssues had good intentions. I feel Polyphemus should have at least given a chance to odyssues and his men instead of automatically saying no I will you eat you and so on. Polyphemus deserved what he got from odyssues.

I think that it may have taken the Trojans several years to build the Trojan horse because it wasn't small in anyway. So I believe this plan may have been in order before the war even started if it happened indeed. No group of men no matter the size could get a giant wooden hollow horse done in a few days let alone hours
